Guide

Build shopping lists automatically

The easiest shopping list is the one that starts from the meals you already plan to cook.

Start with saved recipes

A recipe with clear ingredients can become the basis of a shopping list. Instead of copying each line manually, use Meal Planner to add recipe ingredients to the list when you are ready to shop.

This works best when recipes have sensible quantities and clean ingredient names. Imported and scanned recipes can be edited so the list stays practical.

Choose what you actually need

Automatic does not mean all-or-nothing. You may already have salt, oil, spices or frozen ingredients at home. Meal Planner lets you add selected ingredients when a full recipe list would be too much.

Manual control keeps the shopping list realistic and helps avoid buying duplicates.

Share the list with the household

A shared shopping list is useful when more than one person can notice, buy or check off items. Family sync means the list can support the plan rather than sitting on one phone.

This is especially helpful after meal planning because everyone can see what is still needed for the week.

Keep the list clean

Before shopping, remove old checked items and add household extras that are not part of recipes. A clean list is faster to use in the shop and easier to trust.

Over time, tidy recipes and clear quantities make automatic shopping lists more accurate. The better the source recipe, the better the generated list.
